Project Description
A thunderstorm in an elevator? A flood across the stage? An extreme-raked deck studded with trap doors, an unfolding flying chandelier, and live lighting embedded throughout?
When New York’s Second Stage Theatre needed to fabricate a working environment for the East Coast premiere of Sara Ruhl’s Eurydice, they partnered with blackwalnut.
Working closely with Second Stage and the design team, blackwalnut went to work solving the challenges inherent in the merging of multiple technologies and running water-including live testing of custom-built water systems in the shop-to bring the creative team’s vision to life.Still one of our favorite projects.
